Usually, lifes significant events and emotions are
symbolized with flowers. Years and usages have created
some kind of categories. For example roses are the symbol
of love and passion; lilies are the flowers of death and
regeneration, and carnations a sign of appreciation.
Valentines Day, weddings and Christmas are occasions when
we use flowers to decorate. Despite the event, an
attractive flower bouquet is a fantastic way to
commemorate life through lively colors and rich floral
aromas.
If you want a flower arrangement, florists can help you
decide just which flower to choose for a specific event.
Bear in mind that florists are considerably expensive
because they charge a huge amount of money for their skill
and for the flowers. That is why, if you do not have much
money, you can try creating your own flower arrangements.
It may be a fun activity and you can save a few bucks.
Apart from that, if you buy the flowers yourself, you can
choose the color of the flowers you want in order to
communicate exactly what you feel.
The first step towards making your own flower arrangement
is to think about the idea or message you want to get
across. You have to think about the aim of the
arrangement. If it is a wedding you are preparing, the
main color will be white. You can combine it with other
colors that go with the bridesmaids garments. Table
centerpieces can be made out of buds combine with green
leaves in order to make a great contrast. Remember that
from an aesthetic point of view simplicity can be the best
approach. If the quantity of centerpieces is significant
you can buy the flowers in large quantities, you can
repeat the pattern or you can make individual arrangement
for each table.
In the case of vase arrangements, you have first to choose
your container and then pick the flowers that are of the
appropriate height for the vase. Always remember to cut
the stems of the flowers at an angle, because this way
they can absorb water correctly and remain fresh for a
longer time. Vase arrangements need a central point, and
you can choose to use one large flower or a group of
various flowers. Another important thing to take into
account is to choose a color scheme and to attach to it,
because it would be horrible to mix, for example, red and
pink flowers. Always try to choose flowers that smell and
look good when combined together and fill in the gaps with
leafy greenery and babys breath.
In the case you are making bigger potted flower
arrangements, the best thing to use as the base is an
aesthetically pleasing plant. Nevertheless, if you are
using flowers you may not want to combine them with a
spiky cactus. When you are employing only flowers, it is
better to use a piece of arranging foam as the structure
for the arrangement. Green foam is something you can buy
in any craft store and it can be cut to fit any shape you
need. First you have to imagine what the arrangement will
look like and then pick the flowers according to it.
Once you have chosen all of your flowers and greenery,
begin arranging them in the container. It will take
several tries and lot of adjusting before your create a
finished product, but be confident and do what looks
best. Arranging flowers is an intuitive art, and if you
have chosen a good color scheme and a variety of shapes
and sizes, the correct eye-pleasing concoction will
often fall into place with little effort. When you are
finished, you will have a beautiful, natural decoration
to perk up even the gloomiest of environments, and you
will have the satisfaction of having created a wonderful
work of art.
